Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026
1. Who We Are
This policy describes how Grittie LLC ("Grittie", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use the Grittie app, website, and junk-removal marketplace services.
2. Information We Collect
- Account details — name, email, phone number, date of birth, and password credentials (managed by Firebase Authentication).
- Pickup details — pickup addresses, dates, item descriptions, notes, and completion photos.
- Driver details — vehicle information, license plate, driver's license number, and insurance provider, used to review driver applications.
- Payment data — processed by Stripe; we store transaction records but never your full card number.
- Location — with your permission, driver location is used to show nearby jobs. Location is not collected in the background.
- Device data — push-notification tokens and basic diagnostics (crash reports) to keep the app working.
3. How We Use It
We use your information to operate the marketplace (matching pickups with drivers, processing payments and payouts), to send transactional emails and push notifications about your orders, to review driver applications, to provide support, to prevent fraud, and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Sharing
We share information only as needed to run the Services: pickup addresses and first names are shared between matched Customers and Drivers; payment and payout data is shared with Stripe; authentication and notifications run on Google Firebase; email is delivered via Resend. These providers process data under their own security and privacy commitments. We may disclose information if required by law.
5. Retention & Deletion
You can delete your account any time from the app's profile screen. Deletion removes your login and anonymizes your personal details; order and payment records are retained in anonymized form for bookkeeping, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes. You may also email us to exercise deletion or access rights.
6. Notifications
Transactional emails (receipts, refunds) are always sent. Lifecycle emails and push notifications can be turned off in the app's profile settings at any time.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards: authentication via Firebase, payments via Stripe, TLS encryption in transit, and access controls on our systems. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes & Contact
We will post any changes to this policy on this page with an updated date. Questions or requests: info@secondlifesoftware.com.
