How Driving Works
Create your driver account in the Grittie app. We review your license, vehicle, and insurance before you can claim your first job.
Open the job board and see what's available in your area, with the address, time window, and load size up front. Claim the ones that fit your day.
Items are already at the curb — no going inside, no packing. Load up, snap a completion photo, and mark the job done in the app.
Your earnings are transferred to the bank account you connect at signup. No invoicing, no chasing customers for cash.
Pay
Grittie takes a small platform cut to run the app, handle payments, and bring you the customers. The rest is yours.
Tips go straight to you — Grittie never takes a cut of them.

Requirements
The bar is simple: a truck that can haul a load, the paperwork to do it legally, and a phone to run the app.
A pickup truck, van, or trailer
Big enough to take a half-truckload — roughly six trashbags — in one trip.
A valid driver's license
You must be 18 or older and legally able to work in the United States.
Your own auto insurance
Current coverage on the vehicle you'll be hauling with.
A smartphone
iOS or Android. You'll claim jobs, navigate, and upload completion photos from the app.
A background check
Every driver is reviewed and approved by our team before their first job.
The Work
No estimates, no negotiating, no surprises when you pull up. Every job is scoped before you claim it.
Customers set their items out before your arrival window. You don't go inside the home and you don't pack anything.
Items have to be manageable by a single person. Larger furniture jobs are coming, and those will be priced and staffed differently.
Hazardous materials and liquids, tires, and paint are off-limits. If a customer leaves something they shouldn't have, flag it in the app.

No. There are no shifts and no minimums. You open the app, see what's available, and claim the jobs you want.
You keep 80% of the order total, plus 100% of any tip the customer adds. You'll see the job details before you claim it, so you always know what you're taking on.
A county disposal fee is collected from the customer at checkout as part of every order.
You need current auto insurance on the vehicle you haul with. We'll confirm the exact coverage requirements during approval.
Flag it in the app before you load. You're never expected to haul more than the job you accepted.
No. Grittie drivers are independent contractors. You use your own vehicle, set your own hours, and choose your own jobs.
